City of Orlando Council Chambers

LMG recently completed a renovation project for the City of Orlando council chambers, used by the Board of County Commissioners as the primary meeting space to facilitate government meetings and public hearings. The project required a complete overhaul of the chamber’s audio system and replacement of the outdated CRT monitors that were used throughout the room with more energy-efficient flat screen monitors.

In the past, meeting attendees and participants would complain about the audio quality of the room and the inability to hear the board member’s and presentations. The new system is designed to provide the room with optimal sound quality and clarity. LMG designed and installed an audio system that included four, wall mounted JBL two-way line array speakers, JBL subwoofer, and dbx DriveRack 260 equalization and loudspeaker management system. Each commissioner’s seat is equipped with a Shure MX418 cardioid wired gooseneck microphone, as well as two microphones at the speaker podium. In addition, LMG also managed the process of installing acoustical panels, by an acoustical engineer, in the walls to assist with sound absorption throughout the room.

For the replacement of the video monitors in the chambers, LMG installed a series of 19” LCD monitors located at the board member’s seating area and podium. LMG also installed four wall-mounted, flat panel LCD monitors, two 46’ and two 65” displays, to assist in supporting the government meetings.
